Open Days for the Garden Conservancy
Jane is involved with the Open Days Program, a project to build up a community of gardeners in the Washington, D.C. area. Over three days in 2009, eighteen private gardens were viewed by enthusiastic visitors. This year, Jane has organized a cadre of George Washington University and Virginia Tech landscape students to volunteer as garden hosts for the upcoming series of local garden tours. Stay tuned for the schedule of spring and fall Garden Days. In March 2010, a reception was held at American University to gather together garden owners, gardeners and students in celebration of the beautiful spaces involved. The Open Days Program is a national catalogue of over 300 private gardens that will be open to the public on certain days in 2010.
